Pear Compote

I have yet to come across a bad cupcake pairing at A Cookie and a Cupcake. Today was no different with the special of the day -- pear compote.

Pear frosting, light, smooth, and not too sweet, a generous scoop of pear compote filled the buttery cake, and a seriously addictive cluster of black pepper pecan brittle...yes, black pepper pecan brittle! The addition of black pepper didn't make the brittle bitter. If you like brittle, you'll like this.
