Rhubarb

For the first several decades of my life, I had never tasted rhubarb. I may not have seen an actual stalk of rhubarb until ~15 years ago. A few years ago, I had a bite of rhubarb pie. It was slightly TART! I filed it away in the "tried and have no need to actively pursue" folder. It wasn't particularly bad, just TART.

Last December, we noticed pans of raspberry-rhubarb crisp sitting on a bakery table at Costco. We took a chance, brought one home. This was not a cheap doughy mess, but chock full of raspberries and rhubarb that was not extremely tart, which surely meant that a loving heap of sugar was poured into this dessert.

We've reasoned (convinced ourselves) that this fruit combination will only be available for a limited time. As a result, since our discovery, it is a rare day when we do not have this crisp sitting on our counter. At least 6-7 of these 50 oz containers have found their way into our loving home.
